Patricia York – Founder and Principal
When it comes to business, experience is everything.
Our founder, Patricia York, is an experienced Human Resources professional who offers guidance on strategy and leadership. She has worked with advising Boards, CEOs and Executive Teams, and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise.
Her previous roles include VP of Human Resources for Disney Interactive Studios in Los Angeles, California, where she was responsible for operations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia. She was also VP of Human Resources at Electronic Arts Canada, where she developed leading edge programs and revamped their people practices, leading the company to a placement on the Globe and Mail’s list of the ’50 Best Companies to Work for in Canada’.
One of Patricia’s most recent accomplishments is the creation, design and launch of an Executive Institute for a client within the life sciences sector. Designed for top-level executives, this 10-month program focuses on the further development of leadership skills and has successfully completed its third year.

Nicla Bolognese – Associate
Nicla is a trusted advisor, coach, and problem solver.
She has over fifteen years’ experience in progressive human resources and recruitment roles, where she developed practical and in-depth knowledge in a wide range of areas. From this, she has gained the managerial and leadership experience needed to empower teams and align people strategy with the goals of the organization.
Driven by results, meaningful impact, and her desire to help people, Nicla supports leaders who want to build workplaces with progressive people practices; from essential HR/recruitment infrastructure, to nurturing a culture where team members are valued and can perform at their best.
Some of her experience includes working with small, medium, and large-sized national and global companies in the private and non-profit sectors, including Disney, Electronic Arts, Capcom, Best Buy, Rogers, and most recently, the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. She has also served as a key member of senior management teams and has worked closely with CEOs and Boards.
Nicla holds a B.A. from Simon Fraser University in Psychology and English.
Evaleen Jaager Roy – Advisor
Evaleen is an active and well known community builder.
Prior to starting her own company, Evaleen served as VP of Human Resources for Electronic Arts for over a decade, helping to build the industry throughout its early high-growth years in Vancouver, across Europe and globally. She also served as HR Director at Westcoast Energy and began her career in the U.S. auto sector, working in Detroit and New York City.
Evaleen is an active and well known community builder. She served as Board Chair at Simon Fraser University, the first alumna to be elected to this role. Currently, she is Vice Chair of the Beedie School of Business Advisory Board at SFU, as well as the Co-Chair of the Innovation Advisory Council.
Serving as Board Chair at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, she helped pave the way for their iconic new campus, and served as Past Chair of the HR & Compensation Committees of the Banff Centre, the world’s largest arts and creativity incubator, as well as the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She is also a past Board Member at Curatio, one of BC’s celebrated early stage companies.
Nancy James – Advisor
Over 25 years of experience in leadership education and executive development
With over 25 years of experience in leadership education and executive development, Nancy has served as lead trainer and co-facilitator in both custom and open enrollment programs for the Center for Creative Leadership, at the Fuqua School of Business and Duke Divinity School, at Duke University. She is also a certified administrator and interpreter of the CCL 360 Assessment Suite.
Nancy also served as an executive of the United States Postal Service, where she managed the creation and assessment of all training and leadership development programs. She also oversaw the management of the Employee Assistance Program and was appointed the Manager of the HR Shared Service Center, which provides personnel transactional services for all postal employees.
Following her retirement from USPS, she served for four years as the Senior Director of Learning Experiences and Constituency Development in Leadership Education at the Duke Divinity School, at Duke University. Her leadership and faculty background also includes higher education, healthcare, executive education, and government, at both the city and national levels.
